Greetings and a very warm welcome to you from the people of First United Methodist Church of Urbana.

The mission of the CU Folk and Roots Festival was determined in the Spring of 2008 when over 25 members of the folk arts community met at Techline Studio to discuss the possibility of a folk festival in our town. .  We are thrillled to have been chosen as one of the locations for this years festival.

The C-U Folk and Roots Festival is thrilled to announce that Robbie Fulks, headliner at our very first festival in 2009, will return to headline the 10th anniversary festival. Robbie brings with him two venerable icons of roots music, Linda Gail Lewis and Redd Volkaert.

And that’s not all! In honor of our tenth anniversary festival, we’re bringing back a few festival favorites, as well as jumping on some of the best new talent around.

We are happy to feature this year Alex Zslot as our guest artist for our annual “Consecration Sunday” from Nashville, Tenn.  He is an award winning pianist and lover of Jesus.  Alex-Zsolt has a sincere passion to present the gospel through inspirational music. This passion has taken Alex to over 2,000 churches in the past twenty years. With his God-given talent at the piano, Alex presents music that ministers to people of all ages.

Alex doesn’t just “play” the piano. He ministers through the piano, connects with people, and has been encouraging, uplifting, and inspiring since the start of the ministry

You be sure not to miss this event on October 21, 2018 @ 10:30 am. A free will offering will be taken!  All are welcome.
